A Journey into Neurodiversity

with guest speaker

Amber Fraser-Smith (Otago Polytechnic)

Thursday 24th of August 2023

at Otago Polytechnic in room H601
on 6th floor of the H Block
accessible through the main entrance on Forth Street

Neurodiversity is the new buzzword in the classroom, but what is it and how can we tell if it’s an issue for ESOL learners? At this meeting, Amber Fraser-Smith is going to take you on a journey into neurodiversity. You’ll find out what it is, how to recognise it and even gain some idea of how it feels. You’ll also have a chance to brainstorm ways to overcome some of the difficulties of neurodiversity, and work with its strengths, in the ESOL classroom.

Schedule

Drinks & Nibbles from 5:30pm to 6:00pm

Talk 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Free for TESOLANZ members, TESOL students a gold coin donation and $5 entry for non-members
