Primary SIG: Trauma informed approached to ESOL teaching

POSTED ON 10 March 2024

Date:
19/03/2024
Time:
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Location:
Zoom
Calendar:
TESOLANZ Events

In conjunction with MANATESOL, the Primary SIG will host a webinar about “Trauma Informed Approaches to ESOL Teaching”. Our speaker is child and adolescent psychologist Ágnes Tobias-Laszlovszky, from RASNZ. Ágnes presented a webinar with us last year and will review that then add on, discussing trauma, and how to support our students within our school communities.

Although Ágnes works with refugee children and adolescents, the information she will share has relevance to so many of our learners who may experience trauma as they move to a new country, leave family behind, perhaps change their role in the family as they all endeavour to settle into a new school community with a very different culture and language.

Ágnes will speak for an hour and then there will be around 30 mins for questions and discussion.
We hope you can join us.
