Abstract

Teaching techniques are a way of putting research into language learning and principles of learning into practice. This talk looks at what I consider to be the twenty most useful language teaching techniques. The talk looks at the principles of learning behind these techniques and why these techniques and not others were chosen.

 

Biodata

Paul Nation is Emeritus Professor of Applied Linguistics in the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at Victoria University of Wellington. His specialist interests are language teaching methodology and vocabulary learning. Paul has written over 250 books, articles and book chapters. His books have been translated into at least 5 other languages. Many of his books and resources are available free on his website.
