From Ara Institute of Canterbury, Christchurch
Expressions of interest are being sought for a Casual ASM/Tutor within our Bridging Team (Academic Skills) for Semester 1 2022.
Due to unexpected changes we have 2 occurrences of an Academic Skills Level 4 course which require sick leave cover – immediate start.
These courses started on 8th Feb and we have temporary relief staff, but we need ongoing support.
CSCP400-22-S1-DC = Tuesday and Thursday 5pm – 7pm
CSCP400-22-S1-GC = Wednesday and Friday 1pm – 3pm
These are level 4 academic skills courses with:
- Very comprehensive lesson plans, PowerPoints and other resources already in place.
- A well-developed Moodle site.
- Experienced tutors teaching the courses; with teaching cover in week 1 and 2 of delivery so you would have time to shadow them, and do some prep before you teach!
- Great course leaders and other experienced tutors who will support you 😊
The core teaching topic is around academic writing and study-skills, so is suited to anyone with an English language or linguistic qualification, however you may have a passion for academic skills developed from within your own expertise area. We would be happy to support you into the role.
The position will report to Sandra Leak, Foundation and Bridging Manager with day-to-day supervision provided by SASMs responsible for the courses.
Expressions of interest should be e-mailed with a current CV to asap.
