Response from Minister Hipkins on COVID-19 impact

POSTED ON 18 June 2020

The Minister has responded to our letter (8 May 2020) regarding the impact of COVID-19 and the resulting border restrictions on our sector.

‘The Government recognises the severity of the impact the border closure has had on international education and on the English language sector. I acknowledge English language provision is critical across many parts of our international and domestic education system, and that the challenges facing international education at this time will also affect other aspects of the system.’
